Belarus planning three PPPs

The government of Belarus is preparing to launch three PPP schemes next year, according to the country’s Coordinator of the UNDP Project in Public-Private Partnership.

Elena Daderkina told the BelTA, the Belarus national news agency, that the country is to pick three schemes before the end of 2014 that will act as pilot studies for the delivery of PPP in Belarus.

Following pre-feasibility studies, “their implementation is scheduled to begin in September 2015”, she added.

Daderkina’s group will sift through 61 projects to select the top 10, she said, which will then be presented to the interdepartmental council to approve the final three.

In May, Belarus launched its PPP centre, headed by Dmitry Berezovsky.
