£400m Belfast regen PPP tendered

A contract notice has been issued for a private partner to redevelop an eight-acre site around the Weavers Cross transport hub in Belfast.

Transport agency Translink is seeking a partner to deliver the project, which has a gross development value in the region of £400m and sits in the heart of Belfast.

In the centre of the Weavers Cross site is Translink’s publicly funded transport hub project, with the PPP opportunity related to the land surrounding that scheme to deliver around 1.3million sq ft of mixed-use development.

Interested parties are required to demonstrate “long-term public-private partnership working approaches on major regeneration projects”, as well as being able to show a “credible, deliverable approach to funding the development”. The contract is expected to run for 20 years.

Parties have until 3pm on 24 August 2021 to respond to the contract notice.
