Winner for Minas Gerais transmission P3

Brazil’s National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) has signed an agreement with a private partner for a P3 contract to deliver 1,000km of high-voltage transmission lines in Minas Gerais.

Cobra IS, a subsidiary of French construction giant Vinci, has signed the contract to design, build, finance and operate six 500 kV transmission lines to be installed on four stretches of lines, covering a distance of 63km.

It will also see the creation of one new substation and eight substation extensions.

Under the agreement, construction works should be completed by the end of 2027, with the operation and maintenance period running for 30 years. The contract is worth R$3.5bn (US$654m).
