The Government of Panama has received multilateral support as it continues to strengthen its P3 agenda.
The Ministry of Public Works has received a $7.5m loan from the World Bank to strengthen institutional capacity for P3s, including in planning and management.
It will also be used to pay for consultants and other services to bolster project identification and preparation.
“The Government of Panama looks forward to accelerating the mobilization of private capital to finance infrastructure development,” said Héctor Alexander, Minister of Economy and Finance of Panama. “Those important investments will help recover from the recent crisis with limited fiscal impacts on our budget while contributing to improve the quality of public infrastructure services delivery to the population.”
Last year, the World Bank sought consultants to help Panama prepare a 246km highway rehabilitation P3 project.
