The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) has approved a resolution that will allow a new Green Line transit-oriented development (TOD) to proceed.
Under the plans, a new 495-unit, multi-family housing scheme will be delivered on Bankhead rail station, the western terminus of the Green Line. The project will also feature spaces for a retail, office and commerce and a hotel.
The authority will now enter into negotiations to jointly develop the project alongside a consortium of Peebles, Exact Capital and Third & Urban and Bolster Real Estate Partners.
MARTA’s interim-general manager and chief executive officer Collie Greenwood said: “This TOD is an incredible opportunity to provide affordable housing and other community amenities convenient to transit.”
