Terna Group, Meridiam and Boundless Energy have joined forces to target major US transmission projects.
Under the joint development agreement, the three firms will work together to plan and deliver large-scale transmission projects across the USA, particularly lines that connect regions with higher demand to areas with high availability of renewable resources.
The partnership, dubbed Terna USA, will “leverage the unique expertise of the three partners”, which have delivered major subsea and subterranean transmission lines and interconnectors.
Giacomo Donnini, chief of major projects and international development for Terna Group, said: “Through partnership with two prominent and highly experienced players in the sector, Terna can pursue important business goals with a capital-light strategy, contributing to development of the US electricity system and increasingly integrating energy generated from renewables such as solar and wind power.”
