The Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) has appointed advisors to help prepare its Hassiyan IWP PPP.
The authority appointed Deloitte, WSP and Addleshaw Goddard to advise on the project, helping take it through project preparation to procurement.
Under the plans, private partners will deliver a 120m gallons per day reverse osmosis deslination plant through a PPP - the first foray into the model in the water sector for Dubai.
“In Dubai, we have a comprehensive vision for the sustainability of water resources [...] which focuses on enhancing water resources and using cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and chief executive officer of DEWA.
