Kenya eyes PPP for water projects

The Government of Kenya is looking to use PPPs to deliver dam projects across the country.

President William Ruto said the government is “working on innovative investment mechanisms through PPPs to construct at least 100 dams.”

The dams will be used to massively scale up the amount of irrigated and farmable land in a bid to boost food production amid potential future shortages.

Earlier this month, preparations for the Kenyan National Housing Corporation’s major housing PPP continued its momentum with advisors IFC looking for consultants to help prepare the project's procurement.
