The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has authorized the pre-development agreement for its Potrero Yard bus yard revitalization P3.
The key approval comes following the selection of the Plenary-led Potrero Neighborhood Collective as the preferred bidder, beating off competition from firms including John Laing and Fengate.
Under the plans, San Francisco and the consortium will work together to scope out the project that will see the major revitalization of the existing dilapidated bus yard with an electric vehicle-enabled bus yard and transit-oriented commercial/residential development. Once the design has been agreed, the consortium will proceed to build, finance, operate and maintain the facility.
“This is an exciting milestone for a project that not only brings urgently needed improvements to our aging transportation infrastructure, but also shows how we can work outside the box to create desperately needed housing,” said Hilary Ronen, District 9 supervisor.
