Prince George’s tenders next school bundle

Prince George’s County Public Schools

Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) has released a request for qualifications (RFQ) on its second schools bundle P3.

Under the plans, private partners will design, build, finance, operate and maintain 6 schools across the county, four of which will be elementary schools and two K-8.

PGCPS recently announced that the structure of the deal would include a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) investment stake of at least 20% of the equity, plus an investment comprising a further 10% of the total equity from Prince George’s County residents’ community.

The authority is looking to “build upon the success” of its previous bundle, the first of its kind in the USA - a milestone achievement for the industry for which it received multiple P3 Awards.

According to an indicative timeline, teams will be shortlisted and a request for proposals issued on January 25, 2023. A preferred bidder is expected to be in place by mid-August 2023, with financial close no later than June 1, 2024.

Responses are due November 18, 2022. Questions must be submitted by November 11. The full tender can be found by clicking here.
