Macquarie stalwart leaves for new challenge

A former senior managing director at Macquarie Capital has left the company in order to set up his own organisation.

Willem Stitselaar had been at Macquarie for over 17 years, and was a senior managing director based in Amsterdam for the last three years.

He has now left the company to develop “a principal investment platform backing exceptional projects and great businesses in the energy, digital, infrastructure and mobility transition”.

Announcing his departure from Macquarie, Stitselaar added: “I continue to follow my dream: build my own business independently and make a real impact. There is so much work to do in the transition and I am thrilled by the opportunity.”

Prior to his time at Macquarie, Stitselaar worked at Depfa Bank, PwC and ABN Amro.
