The Government of Sao Paulo and Brazil’s federal government have signed an agreement to “unlock” the state’s Intercity Train (TIC) concession.
Under the plans, private partners will be sought to deliver a 101km express railway link between São Paulo and Campinas.
The agreement will allow the future concessionaire to assume the rights on the current Line 7 railway, a 32km section of metro-rail between the cities, resolving a key hurdle in the project's progression.
