CIB looks to accelerate indigenous infra with new program

The Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) has partnered with non-profit AFOA Canada and TD Bank Group to develop and train skills needed to drive indigenous infrastructure development.

The trio will develop a new project financing program to upskill communities in delivering large scale infrastructure projects.

It will focus on empowering communities to work with consultants and focus on risk management, project financing, contracting and asset maintenance.

“Enhanced project finance training will ensure Indigenous communities have the resources to access capital and develop infrastructure projects that prioritize local needs and deliver positive outcomes,” said the CIB.
