Pakistan approves highway PPP

Pakistan’s Senate standing committee on communication has given its approval to progress the Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway (M-6) highway PPP deal.

The committee met to confirm whether the preferred bidder should be awarded the project to deliver a 306km six-lane highway.

According to the Pakistan Observer, the committee agreed that the bid from the ACC-Techno consortium would go ahead, meaning that the parties can now progress towards financial close.

The private partner will deliver the new highway under a design, build, finance, operate, maintain and transfer model, with revenues received from tolls on the route.
