A team comprising Johnson Controls, The Lemoine Company, ADG Engineering and GHC Architects has won the contract to deliver a replacement to the existing 600-inmate prison.
No cost estimate has yet been put forward for the project, with the consortium due to provide an estimate once its first designs have been completed. If that estimate is too high for the council, it has the right to withdraw from the scheme.
In July, the city’s mayor-president, Josh Guillory, announced plans for the project to be delivered under a P3 and was later given the power to execute P3 projects by the city council. A request for qualifications for the scheme was issued in August.
