Colorado opts against P3 for I-25

The State of Colorado has decided not to proceed with an unsolicited P3 proposal for I-25.

Under the proposal, submitted by Roadis USA, the firm would have delivered a new connection between Denver and Fort Collins, filling a 21-mile gap left by the state’s current toll network, which has been steadily delivered over the last few years.

Colorado Transportation Investment Office board co-chair Karen Stuart said the rejection followed “careful consideration”, with other officials saying the decision does not indicate a general position of P3s.

Michael Cheroutes, president of Roadis USA, said he was “very disappointed” by the decision.
