Portuguese construction firm Mota-Engil has signed a deal for the Metro Guadalajara P3 project.
The firm will lead a consortium to design, build and finance the development and rolling stock of Line 4 of the metro system.
The 21km line will cost $1.2bn and will be paid back with availability payments over 38 years.
Mota-Engil said the deals represent its “winning strategy” to be the main player in the Latin American rail sector.
