Meridiam completes stake in Spanish road PPP

French infrastructure giant Meridiam has completed its takeover of the Autopista del Sol (Ausol) highway concessions.

The firm picked up a final 15% share from Ferrovial for €110m, building on its 65% deal in 2019 which was valued at €451m.

Meridiam had also previously picked up 20% from Unicaja Banco.

The project consists of two highway concessions, Ausol I and Ausol II, which together make up a 105km road linking Malaga and Guadiaro in Southern Spain. The concessions expire in 2046 and 2054 respectively.
