International names vie for Puerto Rico P3

Three teams comprising a number of major P3 players have been shortlisted for Puerto Rico’s toll roads bundle.

Fermín Fontanés, executive director of the Puerto Rico Public-Private Partnerships Authority (P3A), has announced that the following three teams have been shortlisted to battle it out for the project, which will see four toll roads delivered by the winning team.

  • Abertis Infraestructuras

  • Concesionario Nuevo Puerto Rico - a consortium comprising Plenary Americas and Shikun & Binui Concessions

  • Vías de Puerto Rico - a consortium comprising Sacyr Infrastructure USA and TKO Core Infrastructure Fund, which will be managed by Star America Infrastructure Partners

A request for proposals (RFP) is to be issued to the three teams in the coming weeks, the P3A said.

“Puerto Rico has been generating unique and innovative infrastructure investment opportunities in recent years. This project is another example, and it reflects the Government of Puerto Rico’s commitment to modernize and improve the quality of existing and future infrastructure,” said Fontanés.
