Vinci completes airport deal

French giant Vinci has closed the $1.1bn deal to acquire Mexican aviation firm Aeroportuario Centro Norte (OMA).

Announced in August, the deal will see Vinci acquire 29.99% of the firm, becoming OMA’s largest shareholder.

The deal sees Vinci become leader on the 13 concessions under the OMA umbrella, which features Monterrey international airport.

The move is the latest in a series of acquisitions around the world for the French firm. Nicolas Notebaert, chief executive of Vinci Concessions and president of VINCI Airports, said that “after Brazil and Capo Verde, our internationalization continues”.
