Sojitz, Plenary target PPPs together

Sojitz and Plenary have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will see them look to expand collaboration opportunities in PPP and infrastructure projects across Australia, Asia and the Middle East.

The MoU will see the two infrastructure companies jointly investigate strategies and feasible studies to work together on projects across the three areas.

Sojitz and Plenary have been partners in the Footscray Hospital PPP in Victoria since 2001, with the $1.5bn hospital “progressing smoothly towards opening planned in 2025”, according to Sojitz.

The two companies are now looking to build on that relationship to deliver new opportunities and projects.

“Sojitz intends to help overcome social problems through PPP projects by utilizing know-how of PPP projects [that it has] accumulated in other countries, and jointly investigating opportunities with Plenary in business areas including infrastructure and new energy fields,” Sojitz said.

Plenary is seeking to expand its business across different parts of the world: earlier this week it unveiled its strategy to increase its presence in the UK and Europe.
