Bernhard expands management roles

Engineering firm Bernhard has expanded the roles of its senior team to help drive the firm’s further growth.

Lew Derbes (pictured), current chief financial officer, becomes chief financial & strategic officer, where he will implement consistent policies and procedures across Bernhard’s organizational infrastructure to enable scale, while ensuring strategic initiatives remain focused on providing innovative, turnkey energy solutions for customers across the US to become more energy efficient and resilient.

Derbes joined Bernhard in 2020 after working in public accounting and serving as the chief financial officer of several public and private companies.

“Bernhard is at an exciting time in its transformation and is well-positioned for robust growth,” said Derbes.

Meanwhile, the firm has also expanded Melissa Samuel’s chief legal officer role to become chief administrative & legal officer.

Her new position will see Samuel focus on ensuring that culture, compliance and communication are the company’s top priorities.
