The Hawaii Public Housing Authority (HPHA) has released a request for qualifications (RFQ) on its Ka Lei Momi housing P3.
The authority is looking for private partners to play a “lead role” in transforming its existing housing stock.
Split across four of the state’s islands, the project consists of redeveloping nine public housing properties, totaling 80 acres of land. Notably, a number of the projects are located in near proximity to the HART light rail project, and transit-oriented developments could feature as part of the plans.
The project will be delivered through a P3, as part of a major plan to utilize the model so the authority can “leverage its capital”.
Responses are due March 7, 2023. The tender can be found by clicking here.
