Ferrovial Airports is teaming up with Eve Air Mobility, which also provides urban air traffic management (Urban ATM) software, to work on the “safe and reliable operation of vertiports and eVTOLs”.

“As a leading global infrastructure provider and operator, Ferrovial is committed to building and operating safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation infrastructure, which is why we are truly excited to announce our collaboration with Eve,” said Kevin Cox, chief executive at Ferrovial Vertiports.

“Ensuring that we are utilizing an agnostic state-of-the-art Urban Air Traffic Management system will be key to achieving our goals.”

The partners plan to develop urban air mobility solutions in the United States and Europe.

The concept of vertiports remains in its infancy, but some experts believe it could transform urban travel and may provide opportunities for partnerships between public authorities seeking transit solutions and private developers and operators offering a radical solution.
