The California Infrastructure Delivery Coalition (CALINFRA) has released a White Paper aimed at bolstering alternate delivery usage in the state.
The paper, which can be found by clicking here, features a series of case studies on some of the state’s most impressive P3s, focussing on the role that alternate models have played in getting projects delivered.
“Without a broader statewide commitment to expanding the knowledge, best-practices, and authority regarding the use of alternative project delivery, California agencies are leaving significant value on the table,” the paper says.
It makes three recommendations for improving the landscape: increasing education on alternate models; providing a mechanism for regular collaboration between public and private sectors; and establishing a “broad and uniform authority” to use any delivery model.
The group will look to help authorities make “meaningful strides” by supporting the recommendations.
