DCAC enters interconnector market

Disruptive Capital AC (DCAC), a special purpose acquisition company and subsidiary of investor Disruptive Capital, has agreed a business combination with a high voltage interconnector specialist.

DCAC has entered into an agreement with Global Interconnection Group, to establish a business focused on building an integrated platform to service, supply and invest in interconnector cables and wider energy transmission infrastructure projects.

“DCAC believes that the business combination represents an exciting opportunity to build a market-leading, international platform that benefits from and supports global initiatives for increased energy security and lower greenhouse gas emissions,” the company said.

The global interconnector market is expected to see considerable growth in the coming years, as more countries rely on clean electricity as part of their energy transition. Whether for offshore wind, or onshore solar and wind projects, the need for interconnectors to support countries’ electricity grids is likely to continue to rise substantially.
