Infrastructure BC has released its annual update on its major projects procurements, with adjustments to the timelines of two P3s.
On top of the Surrey Langley SkyTrain project, which shortlisted two teams earlier in the year, the authority currently has two DBF contracts in the works: the Fraser River Tunnel and part of the Roberts Bank Terminal 2 scheme.
The authority has rejigged the start of the Fraser River Tunnel Project P3, which was slated to begin procurement early this year but has now been earmarked for a summer launch. The megaproject will deliver a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99.
Meanwhile, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has slated its landmass & wharves DBF project at Roberts Bank Terminal 2 to begin procurement between 2024-26.
The brochure also features numerous projects which are in planning but have not yet had a model chosen for them, including several highways and hospitals.
“Infrastructure BC remains committed to examining and implementing innovative procurement models to deal with challenging market dynamics,” said Mark Liedemann, Infrastructure BC President and CEO.
