Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Metrolinx have released a request for qualifications (RFQ) for their latest tunnelling package.
As part of the Yonge North Subway Extension, private partners will design, build and finance 6.3km of tunnelling works in the Toronto and York region.
The project will also include the delivery of a train storage facility located at the north end of the surface segment.
The procurement was slightly delayed from its planned start, with IO saying in a recent update that it was racing “escalating inflationary costs not seen in a generation”, and noting that it has been working “closely with the government to ensure that project cost estimates are appropriately updated”.
Responses to the RFQ are due July 27, 2023. Questions can be submitted up to June 26. The tender can be found by clicking here.
