Peru’s Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) has signed the concession for two major transmission projects.

Earlier this year, the authority selected Acciona as the winner of the procurement, beating off competition from three other teams.

The two projects will see the Cáclic – Jaén Norte and Ica – Poroma lines extended, and operated and maintained for 30 years. Acciona valued the construction on the projects at $73m.

“This signing represents the culmination of a multisectoral effort whose objective is to have a powerful electricity transmission system to carry energy from generation centers to consumption centers in a continuous manner, at reasonable costs without interruptions,” said José Salardi, executive director of ProInversion.
