A presentation from Edgemoor Infrastructure & Real Estate, which delivered the Howard County project, was given to Charles County’s board of commissioners this week, as they discussed options on whether the P3 model could be applied to their own plans for a new courthouse.
Charles County is looking at ways to replace its existing courthouse, and the presentation addressed a number of challenges in relation to the cost of financing, building, and maintaining a new facility.
The Howard County Courthouse P3 project was opened in July 2021, on time despite the challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, having reached financial close in October 2018.
