Santa Clara Valley Water shortlisted four teams on its purified water P3 scheme in November 2021, after eight teams had submitted bids.
A spokesperson for the authority has now told P3 Bulletin that the authority is “tentatively” planning to issue the RFP to the shortlisted teams this September. Valley Water is still negotiating with the City of Palo Alto, one of the organizations that will supply the secondary treated sewage that will be used for the P3 scheme.
The project will see a private partner design, build, finance, operate and maintain a facility to produce and convey up to 11,200 acre-feet per year of purified water suitable for indirect potable reuse.
Among the teams shortlisted for the project are major international companies such as Aecon, Suez, Kiewit, Epcor and ACS.
