Colorado utilities body Metro Water Recovery (Metro) is preparing to release a request for qualifications (RFQ) on a biogas P3 project this month.
The entity is looking for private partners to replace the existing cogeneration system, which has been operating on its Rober W Hite Facility since the 1980s.
Although the model has not yet been fully specified, Metro said it will use a P3 featuring services including design, build, finance, operate and maintain. It added that there are a “number of sustainable and revenue-positive solutions [...] available”.
An RFQ is expected to be released June 15, 2023.
