Key approval paves the way for the auction of the BR-381/MG highway concession.
Brazil’s Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) has approved plans for private partners to deliver 300km of highway upgrades between Belo Horizonte and Governador Valadares, widening and duplicating major stretches.
The project is expected to require around $1bn of investment, with improvements set to drastically increase the safety and capacity of the connection.
The decision by the TCU paves the way for the project’s auction later this year, with InfraSA planning to release a contract notice in July.
