Colombia’s national infrastructure agency ANI has selected a winner on its La Dorada - Chiriguaná interim-concession contract.
The San Felipe Ferreo Consortium, made up of Castro Tcherassi, Infrastructure Comsa & Comsa Colombia, won the deal, beating off competition from seven other teams.
Under the interim deal, the consortium will take control of the 522km stretch of railway, while Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional (FDN) is structuring its future long-term concession.
Slated to be awarded next year, the project will see private partners sought to upgrade and operate the stretch for 10 years, investing around $500m.
