At the auction, the Aegea group was found to have presented the best proposal for the initiative, proposing BRL3.19 per cubic meter of treated sewage, which represents a discount of 30.65% in relation to the maximum value foreseen.
Aegea beat off competition from three other bidders, over the course of eight rounds of bids.
Under the 24-year concession, Aegea will provide sanitary sewage in these municipalities, in order to meet the 90% target stipulated by the new legal framework for sanitation.
“With this, the government shows that it is possible for the private sector to participate in the public service,” said governor of Paraná, Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior.
