A new deadline of 30 September 2023, with a project longstop date of 30 November 2023, has been agreed between the state and the Dart consortium, which was appointed preferred bidder on the energy deal back in July 2019 and contracts were signed in October 2021.
“I am pleased to confirm that the negotiations between the government and the Dart-led consortium are progressing steadily,” said Premier and Minister of Sustainability & Climate Resiliency, G. Wayne Panton.
“This unique project requires continual communication with project partners, contractors and inter-government agencies to ensure its successful development and it is reassuring that all parties have remained aligned throughout the protracted negotiation process,” added Dart executive director Cameron Graham.
The ReGen project will see the Dart consortium deliver a waste-to-energy plant and recycling facilities that will form a sustainable, integrated solid waste management system for the Cayman Islands.
