Brazil’s infrastructure agency Infra SA is running major feasibility studies to support its future concession program.
The studies range from setting fare prices to route planning to material usage, and are aimed at making “new road concession projects viable”, the agency said.
Over 18,000km of highway projects are currently being structured by Infra SA, with over $20bn of private investment involved in the initiative through 30-year concessions.
“This is a determination of the Ministry of Transport: move forward with the concessions agenda and guarantee investments so that the population has the best service,” said Jorge Bastos, chief executive of the agency.
