The police force had been in dispute with Justice Support Services, the PFI project company that included IML, Abrdn and Equitix. The force had withheld unitary charge payments since March last year over arguments relating to the delivery of services, and the project company subsequently fell into administration.

As a result, the police force is now working with the administrators of the PFI company, AlixPartners, to obtain a settlement.

The force said it is in dispute over “a range of issues” and is continuing to work with the administrators and Home Office in a bid to find a resolution.

It added that it has “reserved all of its rights including its rights to terminate the PFI contract for contractor default”.
