The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) has voted to enter a progressive P3 for its Dorrance Street Transit Center project.
Next Wave Partners has been selected as the winner, a team composed of Plenary, Gilbane, Marsella, Jacobs and CUBE 3.
Under the plans, a new multi-modal transit center will be delivered, with a transit-oriented development (TOD) providing residential and mixed-use spaces as well as RIPTA administrative offices.
The project will utilize a progressive P3, which will see the public and private sectors jointly scope the project before agreeing on a deal to construct and finance the development.
RIPTA’s chief executive officer Scott Avedisian said the development is a “major step” to bolstering Providence’s connections and opportunities, adding that “Next Wave Partners shares our vision.”
