The authority is seeking development partners to deliver projects spanning three sites, under two separate contracts.
The first will see a single development partner appointed for the residential development of two sites within Crewe town centre that are currently used as car parks - at Delamere Street and Chester Street.
Delivery of mostly affordable housing across the two sites is required by the authority, with the partner required to manage and maintain the properties. The winning bidder will also be expected to progress the proposed development through the planning process at their own cost and risk.
“The ambition is to create a vibrant residential area within the centre of Crewe, which will incorporate both family housing and an extra care home,” the authority said.
A market engagement event will be held online on 26th September 2023 at 1pm. To find out more, click here.
Meanwhile, the same authority is also planning a market engagement event on the same day from 2pm to outline its plans for a development partner to deliver and manage a specialist housing scheme located at Mountview, Congleton.
The site is a former care home and day service, and the council is looking to develop “an innovative housing solution which enables independent living”. It plans to work with a partner to develop and manage a housing solution which will meet the needs of those with a learning disability and some with complex needs including autism and behaviour that challenges.
