Cardiff tenders £100m mixed-use regen

Cardiff Council has issued a contract notice for a private partner to design, build and finance a mixed use development at its Atlantic Wharf site.

The authority owns various plots of land at Atlantic Wharf, and is seeking to establish a new council office of no less than 120,000sq ft, plus a Capella Production Studio and events hall, alongside associated public realm.

Under the plans, Cardiff Council will not be making any financial contributions towards the cost of delivering these outputs prior to or during the delivery phases, but instead intends to acquire the assets from the private partner once they have reached practical completion.

Valued at £100m, the procurement also provides an option for the private firm to acquire at market value “certain adjacent plots of land for independent development and to improve the financial viability of the project”.

Interested parties have until 30 October 2023 to respond, with invitations to tender scheduled to be issued on 6 November. To see the contract notice, click here.
