The Government of Goiás is structuring a P3 contract for a major sanitation P3.
The authority has brought in Brazilian development bank BNDES to assist with the project, from studying its feasibility to taking it to auction.
Under the plans, the project will cover nearly 90% of the state’s municipalities, serving 3.4 million people.
“This is yet another contribution from BNDES to the universalization of sanitation services in Brazilian municipalities by 2033,” said Nelson Barbosa, the bank’s director of planning and project structuring.
Earlier this year, BNDES supported the Rio de Janeiro sanitation P3 by investing in the project to ensure its “viability”.
