The School Board of Lee County, Florida, has selected a winner for its Hector A. Cafferata K-8 School P3.
Fortress Secured has been selected by the Superintendent as the winner, and will be put forward for an approval vote by the board next week.
The firm beat off competition from two other teams, Building Tomorrow’s Schools and Gulfpoint Construction Company.
The public sector buildings specialist will now deliver the 1,500-student K‐8 school on a 30-acre, county-owned site through a P3.
While the project is relatively small in scale, the move comes on the back of Prince George’s County’s school P3 opening most of its bundle earlier this year, potentially providing a new avenue for many school boards to upgrade their facilities and address deferred maintenance backlogs.
