The city’s governance committee backed plans to support the Seattle Public Schools and Seattle Center in their efforts to redevelop the site to deliver a new, state-of-the-art stadium that will host student athletics, concerts, professional sports, and other community events.
Under the plans, the public authorities will work with the One Roof Partnership to build and operate the new facility.
The City of Seattle has already approved $21m for the project and intends to identify another $19m by 2026. Washington State is also investing $4m. The remaining funding will be raised through the One Roof Partnership P3 arrangement.
It is expected that the new stadium will be completed in 2026.
