Valley Line audit backs Edmonton approach

An authority commissioned audit of the Valley Line P3 scheme in Edmonton, Alberta, has concluded that the approach adopted by the city protected its interests.

The audit, which was commissioned due to the ongoing delays to the completion of the Valley Line project, found that overall the authority is overseeing the project “to achieve cost-effective and service delivery expectations”.

It added that the procurement process was conducted in a “fair, open and transparent manner”, while project agreements have “clearly allocated risks, protected the city’s interests and set out requirements for communication”.

The Southeastern Valley Line LRT project, which is being delivered by the TransEd consortium, has faced numerous delays during its construction, but earlier this month the partner said the line would be ready to open this Fall.
