Under the plans, Equitix will invest in private companies that develop projects in Ireland across the telecoms, transport, and energy sectors, amongst others.

“We are proud to be partnering with the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund to help support the delivery of greenfield infrastructure projects,” said Hugh Crossley, Equitix chief executive.

“This commitment aims to support developers of infrastructure assets in Ireland with the additional capital they may need to enhance and develop assets and projects that will ultimately benefit the State and the Irish economy,” added Nick Ashmore, director at ISIF, the sovereign development fund managed by the National Treasury Management Agency.

Equitix said that it would continue to support investment in PPPs in the Irish market, separate to this initiative, building on its involvement in projects such as the Community Nursing Homes programme and the Social Housing scheme.
