The US Conference of Mayors P3 Task Force is partnering up to create a new P3 Institute to bolster project capacity and understanding.

Featuring mayors of 18 US cities, the task force has partnered with the Association for the Improvement of American Infrastructure (AIAI) to create the new institution.

Under the plans, the institute will hold 12 regional sessions throughout the year to deliver customized training and educational resources to mayors and their staff.

“Empowering cities with a stronger knowledge of the P3 process should result in more successful P3s. Our goal is to help mayors address critical needs and benefit the communities they serve through more efficient delivery of infrastructure,” said Lisa Buglione, executive director of the AIAI.

Andre Dickens, Atlanta Mayor and chair of the P3 Task Force, kicked off the inaugural meeting of the group by saying there is a pressing need to “develop projects better, faster and cheaper”, stressing the importance of collaboration.
