The Belgian Ministry of Defence has released a call for expressions of interest (EOI) on a PPP to deliver facilities to support maritime helicopter operations.
Under the plans, a new facility will be delivered at Ostend airport to house and support a fleet of helicopters that conduct maritime and search & rescue operations for the area.
Private partners will design, build, finance and maintain the infrastructure, with the maintenance lasting 20 years.
Infrastructure works include: an operating location from which both the operations and maintenance of the NH90 NFH helicopters must take place; the construction of the necessary connection with the existing apron; plus works on road & utility connections and security installations.
