Rio Grande do Sul has awarded its Erechim Prison P3 project.
Soluções Serviços Terceirizados won the auction, offering a 0.004% discount.
Under the plans, the partner will deliver a new 1,200 capacity prison for around $29m, with the concession running for 30 years.
Brazilian development bank BNDES assisted the government with the project’s preparation.
"When we design any type of public-private partnership, we seek to offer better services for people. In the case of the new Erechim prison, the same thing happens,” said Pedro Capeluppi, Secretary of Partnerships and Concessions of the Government of Rio Grande do Sul.
