The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has released a notice of intent to procure its statewide broadband P3 project.
Under the plans, private partners will operate, maintain and commercialize, at risk, a 1,400km broadband network that underpins the GDOT interstate highway system and various corridors of Metro Atlanta.
With multiple major highway projects currently ongoing, the new connectivity system will “help maintain the robust interstate communication network the department is developing”, GDOT said.
